Psybient, also known as ambient psy, psychedelic ambient, ambient goa, ambient psytrance and more commonly within the Goa/psytrance scene as psychillpsydub, is a genre of electronic music that combines elements of psychedelic trance, ambient, world music, new age and even ethereal wave. It often has many dub influences and can also sound somewhat like glitch. Psybient pieces are often structured around the concept of creating a "sonic voyage" or "musical journey". Although similar to psytrance's emphasis on maintaining non-stop rhythm throughout the night, psybient is far more focused on creating a vast soundscape that can be experienced over the length of an album, focusing less on beatmatching and allowing for a myriad of tempo changes.

Color to Sound - Spiritual Acoustic Light

A wave also has a "frequency". The frequency is how often a crest goes by. The frequency of a wave depends on how fast the wave is moving. It also depends on the wavelength of the wave. Imagine two sets of waves that have the same speed. If one set has a longer wavelength, it will have a lower frequency (more time between waves). If the other set has a shorter wavelength, it will have a higher frequency (less time between waves). Wavelength and frequency go opposite of each other. Shorter wavelengths mean higher frequencies, while longer wavelengths mean lower frequencies.

Sound waves with a wavelength around 34 cm (about a foot) have a frequency of 1,000 hertz. A hertz is one wave per second. So a thousand sound waves can enter your ear in a second! Sound waves travel much faster than normal water waves. Sound waves move through the air at around 343 meters/second (767 miles/hour).

Light moves even faster AND has shorter wavelengths. These combine to give light extremely high frequencies. Red light has a wavelength of about 682 nanometers. Its frequency is around 440 terahertz. That's 440,000,000,000,000 hertz. That's a whole lot of waves going by in a second!

Exploring Sacred Musical Tunings

I have been over the last couple of months been doing an extensive on alternative tuning systems based on sacred musical scales of ancient Egypt and ancient Mexico. I have incorporated these systems in the past into my three CD's [Celestial Spheres, Ancient Lands, and Nadaum]

I have looked into the work currently of Dr. J J Hurtak which I presented an academic paper at ACMC 2006 at Adelaide University exploring connections between pitch's of A and F/F# of the Great Pyramid of Giza and those of Mexico like Chichen Itza. Now I have spent endless night's in comtemplation, meditation and speaking to world experts on alternative systems system's that explore other systems that the A440 or Concert A or Middle A is the 440 Hz tone that serves as the standard for musical pitch.

What I have come to believe is that we in the western world need to look to the sacred eastern traditions for new ideas in alternative tuning systems other than the 440 hz "Concert A" for only in 1936, the American Standards Association recommended that the A above middle C be tuned to 440 Hz. -- Before this time Concert A has been any where from 423.5 Hz to 460 Hz. Tuning forks in previous times where the basis for this central tuning. i.e:

In 1780 [A=421.6 hz] supposed to be Mozart's pitch from Vienna, Austria

In 1751 [A=422.5 hz ] Handel's tuning fork from London, England

In 1711 [A=423.5 hz ] an existing tuning fork of John Shore from London, England

Even up to [A=432 hz ] Brussel, Belgium Proposed pitch standard and [A = 456.0] Viennese 'high pitch' going all the way up to 570.7 hz as A.

What we must note is that the majority of our instruments and electronic software is standard to A 440 hz.

Now where to go from here:

We I am interested in is what are the sacred frequencies that are aligned with nature and supernature and how they connect in with the body and sacred geometric alignments.

I am going to be offering courses online and in person for "sacred music" composers and new age artists that want to understand how we can modulate consciousness through new connections of frequencies found in nature like those of the, Golden Section of 1.618 and Pi 3.142 and Phi how these tie into frequency patterns of the worlds great pyramids and temples and how astrophysical objects also show direct harmonic acoustic patterns.

NEW SPIRITUAL INSIGHTS:

One way I have been exploring this in the realtionship of color to sound. I like to call this spiritual acoustic light taken from the teachings of Enoch, Melchizedek and Metatron. These intelligence that connect back to ancient Egypt and Mexico from the Scriptures of Light. Ancient Shamans had connections to these mystical masters and documented there teachings and a section of these inner teachings where on the reality of "transformational linguistics" and "harmonic resonance" where the power of Mantra [sacred sound], Yantra [sacred image] brought forth teachings of how sacred geometry of sound, color and pictograph can modulate the inner consciousness effecting the brain waves and our matter-energy bodies for altered states of consciousness. I explored an aspect of this research in my honours thesis of "binaural beat frequencies" effect brain waves and how using these patterns can create positive states of being!
